In the year F.A. 280, news has spread that the High King Eldarion has died of old age and has left the kingdom in the hands of the council and his wife Isabel. As the Kingdom mourns their King, rumors have begun to spread of orcs and other fell creatures attacking isolated farms and cabins. Some wonder if Spring will ever arrive on top of this dark age. Rumors have come to Minas Tirith of small villages even being wiped out of existence with no known source to the attacks. Even the remaining elves that did not sail away are concerned for these dark times, they are unsure of what is to come. But all is not completely lost...

Caella, daughter of High King Eldarion is heir to the throne. She is to be crowned High Queen at mid summers day on her seventeenth birthday. The council under the leadership of High Queen Isabel rules the land until her coronation. Many wonder if the new queen will be able to follow in the footsteps of her father and her fathers before her. Will Caella be able to lead her people through another dark time? Or will she prove to be too unfit to lead and let men fall?
